The Lancaster Farmers Market was featured in the April 4-17 issue of the Fairfield Towne Crier with quotes from two members of the market board!
“We’re excited to be kicking off another market season,” said market president Lynne Schultz of Schultz Valley Farms in Lancaster. “Our farmers take a lot of pride in bringing fresh, local food to the people of Lancaster. The market offers a great place for the community to come together and for shoppers to meet the farmers who grow their food. Most farmers are happy to answer questions, along with cooking and gardening tips. You just can’t get that experience at the grocery store.”
“It just doesn’t get better than a vine-ripened tomato in July or a just-picked strawberry in June,” said market secretary Lauren Ketcham of Down the Road Farm in New Lexington. “By shopping at the farmers market, customers aren’t just getting delicious food, including hard-to-find heirloom varieties with unparalleled tastes. They’re supporting local farm families and the regional economy.”
